What is KOZ?

Kids Outdoor Zone is a ministry that uses hunting, fishing, and outdoor adventure as a tool to mentor boys 8-18 years of age. To achieve this goal, Men of Vertical Chapel have been trained and certified as KOZ HTL's (Harvest Team Leaders) to role model and disciple the boys that are in our church and local communities. They are taught through the KOZ outdoor adventure curriculum at our monthly meeting every 2nd Saturday. These meetings are geared towards giving them a view of Christ and what it means to be a Christian boy/young man in our world, as well as teaching them life skills through outdoor adventure.

Whether it is a boy without a father, a father-and-son team, or a boy just interested in the outdoor lifestyle, KOZ is the place.

What do KOZ meetings look like?

At these meetings, the boys will be mentored in outdoor skills and adventure by trained KOZ leaders and other male volunteers. The boys will also be cared for and given a view of Christ and what it means to be a Christian boy/young man in our world.

Boys are drawn in by the outdoor adventure and training by an adult man. Every boy truly is “Wild at Heart.” This internal longing fits perfectly with the KOZ program.
